Hey City Zen!

I had a fortunate musical upbringing because my mother was a radio DJ until I was about 7 or 8. So I had access to all these great records that most kids my age were not listening to. The first soul record I ever heard was "We Need an Understanding" by Ike and Tina Turner. I have never stopped playing that 45 rpm since then! Believe it or not, it may have put me on a path that eventually brought me to the US -- it's a funny thing that Tina Turner chose to live in Europe! It may also explain my love for nasty R&B, of the sort you listen to on Blaxploitation and Tarrantino movies...
